There are two main types of people looking for Electrician jobs,
1). There is the Construction Electrician:
that is looking for a Job which he will to go to work at 7:00am and come home at 3:00pm. They will usually work under the supervision of a foreman, they do what they are told to do and usually become extremely good at one or two things ie.. running and bending conduit, or Installing Service Equipment or wire terminations and devices etc... they are taught that speed is everything and the Company will usually furnish their tools and compensate them for all of their training,
when they get home they have truly put in a hard day and they just want to "unplug, grab a beer, relax and watch television".
2). Then there is the Service Electrician:
that not only needs to know what it takes to be a good Electrician but also how electrical devices work and why they do what they do.
This Electrician usually likes doing things for other people and wants to be compensated for it. If he runs into a problem that he cannot solve, he will spend all of his waking moments studying and watching YouTube videos and other sources to try to figure out if someone else has run into the same issues that he has and how they found them and solved them.
This Electrician has all the "Latest and Greatest tools." and is always looking for a better/easier way to trouble shoot and come up with creative solutions, He learns what products are available to be able to adapt to any situation. He realizes that this is a Career and not just a "9 to 5"Job and he is willing to help people out at their worst times..
Here are some stories of some of my most interesting and Challenging projects that I have come across.
Sometimes a Service Electrician will get called out on a late night call because a Customer has partial power, When he arrives he sees a (D.I.Y. disaster).
